Add flavor without the calories with this Al Pastor spice blend. Try it on the classic favorite pork al pastor or on our favorite- shrimp. We also recommend this blend on chickpeas or jackfruit to make vegan tacos al pastor. Don’t forget the grilled pineapple on top! We recommend generous use.
Ingredients: Ancho chile, Guajillo chile, Spanish Paprika, Garlic powder, Muscovado sugar, Cumin, Black pepper, Hibiscus Flower, Oregano, Cinnamon, Clove and Chipotle chili
Al Pastor Marinade
Makes 1/2 cup (enough for 1/2 kilo protein of choice)
1/4 cup Al Pastor Seasoning
1/4 cup Oil of choice (olive oil, avocado oil, safflower oil, etc)
1 tsp GF Soy Sauce
2 tsp Vinegar OR Pineapple Juice
- Add all ingredients together in a bow, mix well and coat your protein of choice. Let marinate for at least 20 minutes. Do not marinate shirmp any longer than 20 minutes if you use pineapple juice because it will break down the meat quickly. Marinate everything else up to 8 hours before cooking as desired. OR even easier is just add the al pastor seasoning and olive oil on the protein of choice and let stand 2o minutos or overnight for more intense flavor.
