Mil Usos Seasoning

Mil Usos balances flavors. It gets its vibrant color and acidity from dried hibiscus leaves and the earthiness comes from shiitake mushrooms, sweetness from unrefined sugar. Mil Usos (A thousand Uses)

Ingredients: hibiscus flower powder, unrefined muscovado sugar, shiitake mushroom powder, salt, black pepper

NY Strip Steak with Sautéed Onions and Peppers

Serves 2

Onion, sliced

Poblano Pepper, sliced

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1 tbsp Mil Usos

1 Steak

  1. Sauté sliced onions and poblano peppers in olive oil and a tsp of Mil Usos Seasoning. Cook until softened, about 10 minutes. Heat up a sauté pan over medium-high heat. With a paper towel, dry one side of the steak. Generously season the steak with Mil Usos. Cook 3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Cook to desired doneness, slice and serve over the sautéed onions and peppers. Serve with a Baked Sweet Potato and Sautéed Spinach and Bourbon Sauce.
