Benefits of Chia Seeds:

-Excellent plant source of the essential fatty acids Omega-3

-It has double the antioxidants than blueberries.

-It is an anti-inflammatory

-6 times more calcium than milk

-6 times more iron than spinach

-Provides the body with energy

-Great for dieting since it keeps you feeling satiated. This is because they can absorb up to 12 times their weight in liquid and it is believed that when this happens in the body it slows down digestion. This gives you the feeling of fullness as well as a steady flow of energy.

-I also use them as an egg replacement in baking as well as a thickener in sauces like this one for pad Thai.
